The university period is one of the best times of our lives, as we develop intellectually and emotionally, grow as individuals, make friends, and much more.
However, this phase also brings some challenges for many students: the search for accommodation, as it becomes increasingly difficult and expensive to find an apartment every year.
Sometimes you have to pay a fortune for a small room, and if you’re lucky, there are still vacancies.
As students, we obviously have little money, and we already spend a lot on tuition fees, books, photocopies, and transportation.
Joel Weber, a student from Texas, was concerned about his housing situation because rents were excessively high.
So he had a brilliant idea: instead of continuing the endless search and ultimately paying a very expensive rent, he decided to build his wooden house.
Joel started with architecture books borrowed from the library, used all his savings, and after a year, the house was ready.
„I knew it was a risk,“ says Joel, who spent $15,000 on building the house.
Joel could now live in his own house and no longer had to rent from anyone.
Despite the house looking very small from the outside, entering reveals that it is actually more spacious than expected.
The cozy wooden house is only 14 square meters, but the space has been well utilized.
The staircase, for example, is also used as storage space, giving it a special touch.
Joel received many materials from various people, such as the wood from the bedroom located on the second floor, and the result became very beautiful.
The house also has a fully functional bathroom and kitchen, and the best part is that it is on wheels, so it is very easy to transport!
In the meantime, the young man has received many offers from people wanting to buy his house, but he has no intention of selling it.
A spectacular initiative, don’t you think? SHARE!
