This woman designed her small home using three shipping containers. Let’s take a tour of the interior!

Living in a house made of shipping containers might not seem like the best idea, but after seeing this woman’s house on Lake Taupo in New Zealand, you might change your mind.

Brenda Kelly is no stranger to living in containers.

In fact, she lived in an ultra-compact house built with a single 20-foot container while designing a larger house made with a 40-foot container, equipped with an innovative step solar system.

True to her love for containers, Brenda returned to „Living Big In a Tiny House“ with her third container.

She moved to another city and built a new container home. Brenda has been living there for about a year now and is really enjoying it.

What attracted her to this place are the relaxing view and tranquility.

She emphasizes that she has never been a fan of city life.

The house is built on slightly raised pillars to maximize the magnificent view of the lake.

Unlike most tiny houses, this one is connected to the grid since it’s in a shaded area, and installing solar panels wouldn’t have much effect.

Brenda’s new home consists of three separate 20-foot containers, connected in parallel.

They also removed the internal walls of two containers to create a spacious one-and-a-half-wide bedroom and a living room.

The entire house has an area of about 45 square meters.

The exterior of the container house is entirely black, except for the attractive pattern on the front of the house with stickers.

These colorful details definitely add a fun and distinctive touch to the house design.

Since they built the house on higher pillars, Brenda can use the space underneath as covered parking.

Once inside, a short hallway leads directly to the living room, which opens onto a covered balcony.

Brenda also installed large windows, a bit lower than usual, which allows her to fully enjoy the breathtaking view.

The same principle has been applied to her main bedroom, from which she can directly overlook the lake from the bed.

When inside, you don’t even notice that the entire structure is made up of shipping containers because it resembles a normal house.

The kitchen features a regular-sized refrigerator with microwave oven, overhead cabinets, a two-burner stove, a dish drawer, a compact oven, and a hood.

Brenda stores linens and does laundry in a closet near the living room.

The house incorporates a spacious bathroom with a standard 900×1200 shower, a gel toilet, and a vanity mirror.

Brenda’s bedroom is pleasantly spacious and offers enough space to move comfortably around the bed.

Below it, there is additional storage space where she keeps camping equipment and suitcases.

The room also has a full-height wardrobe with mirrored doors. Brenda works from home, so she has set up a dedicated room as an office/guest room, where she can focus.

She has a large desk that can accommodate a printer, a laptop, and two external monitors.

Incredibly, the entire setup can be transformed into a double bed, where Brenda’s guests can sleep comfortably.

The house has a fantastic entertainment area on the balcony, with two armchairs, a side table, and a coffee table.

Brenda says it’s a beautiful place to relax and watch the lake during warm weather.

It’s truly a spectacular home, one that most of us can only dream of!
